Joon Bug’s One-Year

One year with Joon Bug!

Today marks one year since Joon Bug came into the PAR foster program, and we couldn’t tell her story better than Robin, her foster-turned-forever mom:

“Joon Bug came into my life as a foster exactly one year ago. At eight years old, she was sweet but emotionally distant—detached and withdrawn from her new surroundings. Over the next three months, we worked gently to help her settle in, supporting her through pneumonia, hand-feeding her back to a healthy weight, and ultimately taking her to CSU for BOAS surgery. As I cared for her through recovery, it became clear: she belonged with us. Joon Bug wasn’t going anywhere—she had found her forever home.

Today, Joon Bug is the princess of the house. Her mornings begin only after face and belly rubs, and she must be gently coaxed from her plush pink ‘nest.’ Her days revolve around her two greatest joys: eating and sleeping, with the occasional burst of zoomies. She’s an indoor girl at heart—outdoor time is strictly for potty breaks before promptly returning to the comfort of home. But she adores car rides and stroller jaunts, and her favorite pastime is napping in my lap.

Though I never imagined having a French Bulldog—I’ve always gravitated toward bigger, more active and trainable breeds—Joon Bug has completely charmed us. A Venn diagram of her and our other dogs wouldn’t show much overlap beyond sharing a home and an owner. But she is unique, and we honor her quirks with princess-level devotion.

Her breathing has remained a challenge. After recent tests, we learned she has pulmonary hypertension, which is now managed with medication.

Joon Bug is deeply loved. Her journey from fragile foster to cherished princess has been remarkable, and we’re so grateful she found her way to us.

I want to add a huge and heartfelt thanks to Lisa and PAR, as well as to many donors, who were so dedicated and involved in truly giving Joon Bug a new lease on life.”

Happy 1-Year Anniversary, Joon Bug! You remind us why we do what we do.
