Tina George

Board Member

Tina George has been passionate about saving animals, and educating pet parents, since her own Australian Shepherd went missing from her Ranch, while in her early 30’s. She spent over 6 months pursuing every tip and visiting the local Veterinarians, shelters, and rescues, daily, but to no avail. Feeling desperate herself, but at the same time seeing the desperation in the animals in the shelters and on the streets led to a new awareness of the significant need to change the way domestic animals are regarded and cared for in our country.

Tina dove in to volunteering and learned all she could about animal rescue, which she continues today, 35 years later. Her commitment to working towards the long-term growth of animal rescue and its sustainability for the future, and for the good of the animals, proves to be one of her strongest attributes to the Board.

Moving to Durango in 2023, Tina researched local animal rescues and discovered PAR. After reading Lisa’s Bio, she knew this was the rescue for her. Lisa’s vision, history of accomplishments, and future goals inspired her to join the team, and use her innovative thought processes to further develop the organization.

Tina has built her career by building dental practices, and later a mobile Veterinary hospital, in areas that are underserved. The perspective she has gained from her history of providing care to animals and people gives her a unique approach to finding solutions. She believes that finding new possibilities for existing business practices is the key to success, especially in a field as dynamic as foster-based animal rescue.

Tina, her husband Jon, and golden retriever Hattie, stay active by exploring destinations in their airplane, off roading, motorcycle touring, skiing, scuba diving, and a little bit of golf.
